Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

By creating an account or using the Vibe Coders Association of Canada ("VCAC", "we", "us", "the platform"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. What VCAC Is

VCAC is a community platform for sharing AI-assisted ("vibe coded") software projects. We provide hosting for project listings, profiles, messaging, certificates, and related community features. VCAC is run independently and is not affiliated with any AI company, Canadian government body, or coding bootcamp.

2. Account Responsibility

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your password secure. You may not create multiple accounts to manipulate likes, views, Vibe Score, or certificate eligibility. Accounts found doing this will be banned without refund of any paid features.

3. Original Work & No Copying

Projects submitted to VCAC must be your own original work, built or substantially assisted by AI tools. You may not:

  • Submit a project you did not build or meaningfully contribute to
  • Copy, clone, or re-skin another VCAC member's project and submit it as your own
  • Submit copyrighted material, stolen code, or someone else's portfolio piece without permission
  • Use someone else's submitted project to claim certificates or Vibe Score

Plagiarized or copied submissions will be rejected or removed if discovered after approval, and repeat offenders will be banned. If you believe your work was copied by another user, report them via their profile page.

4. Platform Liability Disclaimer

VCAC is a hosting and discovery platform. We are not responsible for the content, functionality, security, or legality of any project submitted by users. When you visit, run, or download a project linked on VCAC, you do so at your own risk.

We do not guarantee that any project is free of bugs, malware, or harmful code, although we make reasonable efforts to review submissions before approval. VCAC is not liable for any damages, data loss, or harm resulting from your use of any project listed on the platform.

Disputes between users regarding stolen work, plagiarism, or intellectual property should be reported to us via the report feature, but VCAC does not act as a legal arbitrator and is not responsible for resolving ownership disputes between members.

5. Certificates

VCAC certificates reflect community engagement (Vibe Score) as measured on our platform at the time of approval, reviewed manually by VCAC staff. Certificates are not professional credentials, accredited qualifications, or guarantees of skill level. They may not be reproduced, sold, or issued by anyone other than VCAC.

6. Pro Membership & Payments

Pro membership, when available, is a paid subscription granting promotional features only. It does not affect certificate eligibility, which is based purely on Vibe Score. Pricing, features, and availability may change at any time. Founding Member status, once granted, is permanent and non-transferable, but the temporary Pro access period that comes with it is time-limited as stated at the time of grant.

7. Community Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other members via messages, comments, or reports
  • Submit spam, scams, or malicious links
  • Post sexually explicit, hateful, or illegal content
  • Attempt to hack, exploit, or disrupt the platform
  • Impersonate VCAC staff or other users

Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban at VCAC's sole discretion, without prior notice.

8. Content Ownership

You retain ownership of any project, text, or content you submit. By submitting, you grant VCAC a non-exclusive license to display, promote, and feature your content on the platform (including the homepage, leaderboard, and social sharing previews). You can remove your content by deleting your project, though cached copies may persist in search engines temporarily.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account at any time, for any reason, including violation of these terms, suspected fraud, or harmful behavior toward the community. You may request account deletion by messaging the VCAC president.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of VCAC after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, VCAC and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of reputation, or financial loss related to projects, certificates, or community interactions.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms can be directed to the VCAC president via their profile message feature.
